A wizard lizard

This neat little minifig-scale Parasaurolophus by Louis K. is immediately identifiable, and almost has 'swoosh' appeal, even though it's not a space ship!



Little known fact... In Latin, "Parasaurolophus" actually means "lounges around under umbrellas", nyuk nyuk. ;-)
 

Clock this!

They say time flies when you're having fun. But this is complete bollocks... Annoyingly, time flies when you're trying madly to deal with ten things at once on an impossible schedule, slipping through your fingers more easily than a frog dipped in warm butter.

But for Alex Eylar, time apparently does fly. Specifically by sprouting legs, darting across the table, and jabbing you in the eye with a pencil...


...which is exactly what I would expect it to do, because time is a complete and utter bastard. If my beer gut is any evidence.
 

All that we see or seem

I just got back from seeing the movie INCEPTION this evening, and while it may just about be the best movie I have seen in 20 years, it's going to take me a while to get my brain to fit back inside my skull properly. (...phew, what a mind bending movie!)

But since the rest of my family went to see Toy Story 3 today instead, I think I'll stick to that more explainable subject matter. And what better way to celebrate another Pixar slam-dunk (albeit an increasingly formualic and comfortable slam-dunk) with this wonderful version of Jessie from the prolific Hong Kong character builder tkh...


And with that, I'm off to bed, to hopefully avoid getting lost in a dream within a dream. As a safeguard, I have a Lego brick ready as my totem...
 

Clucking hell

For the record, I post way more poultry related MOCs than you would statistically expect. It's just not normal. What can I say, I guess I love chicken? And this rooster specimen by (((((Primus)))) is just waiting for someone to come rip its head off and shove it on the oven. Or are you not supposed to eat the boy chickens for some reason? I don't know. Or care. Probably puts hairs on your chest or something. BUCKAW!

Maybe if the Mayans had built a few more of these, the Spanish would have concluded that the Americas were ruled by giant robots and bogged off back to Europe where they belonged.

But then history might have taken a very different turn. One with a distinct lack of burritos. Ugh, it's almost too horrible to imagine!
 

It's a dog's life

Whenever I stumble upon an animal-related creation by Daiman Mardon it either involves a slightly creepy backstory or some kind of unintelligble clucking language. So this latest example just takes the biscuit! Or quite possible takes something a lot more precious to this poor mutt Monty than the next dog biscuit, I would imagine...



I fully intend to inform the SPCA of his suspicious activities, right after I'm done flushing all these baby turtles.

Enigmatic builder retinence has already proved that it is possible to build interesting 'character' MOCs using mainly Bionicle pieces instead of regular Lego bricks, but he's definitely taking it to the next level with this extremely lifelike (and fully posable) stallion named Sleipnir...

Barely a timely topic now I suppose, but Hong Kong builder TKH applied his characteristic style of poseable fighting characters to create these 'freeze frame' scenes from a certain popular international sport that is happening at the moment...

Because who doesn't love Egyptology?! I know I do. And I guess Jordan Schwartz (aka Sir Nadroj) does too, because he built these two spooky Anubis statues without even a specific project in mind...

He also whipped up an experimental video to put these guys in some kind of meaningful context. Now, it might not appear ot make much sense at first, but trust me, just watch it right through to the very end!


 

Little tubes of delight

I thought David Haliski's pack of smokes, that I featured last month, would be the last word in Lego tobacco humor. But then Polish builder Karwik goes and completely raises the bar (....actually, more like nails the bar to the top of a stovepipe hat on the head of a giraffe in a high-altitude balloon)



The perfect studs-awol construction and addition of (non brick-built) smoke make it so you totally have to do a double take to realize its actually all made of Lego (although the brand of the pack ought to be the giveaway!).
