May the force be blah blah blah etc

Seeing as how Legoland California is holding it's annual Star Wars days event this weekend, this seems like a good time to share with you these cute 'chibi' style models of some well-known Star Wars characters by SPARKART!...

How to get a head in Lego

The awful green background of this blog will probably ruin the beautiful simplicity and composition of this image, but that shouldn't stop me from showing you these great little shrunken heads by Jordan Schwartz (aka Sir Nadroj).

Pocket Heros

Slightly 'against charter' since these models are articulated, but I've always dug this detailed style of somewhere-between-minifig-and-miniland-scale characters constructed a from mass of tiny specialized components.

I honestly believe that if The Lego Company spun up a line of figures based on this technique, they'd be a massive hit, and they could finally jettison the casserole of nonsense that is Bionicle!

And as a bonus, Pete also created this Chibi Samurai in the same vein, which he auctioned off to help with the Japanese disaster relief effort...

...so you can see, they're even saving the world!
